aka Devil's Walking Stick
Oplopanax horridus
This incredible plant is a member of the Araliaceae family which also contains ginsengs. Native Alaskan's called it "big plant with needles"- you don’t want to accidently touch this plant with its millions of sharp spines. This plant was most valuable to the indigenous peoples of the Pacific Northwestern parts of North America both for medicinal and spiritual purposes.
Research has shown that this plant has anti viral, anti fungal, and anti microbial properties. It is also said to have analgesic properties and was used for arthritis.
Though native peoples used it internally and externally; Twin Mountain Botanicals focus is external with its primary use in the Deep Tissue Salve.
